Livepoets.com began in 2000 as a streaming media class project while I was completing my degree in Digital Video Production. Since that time, it has grown to become the largest collection of freely streamed poetry slam videos on the net, in conjunction with Poetry Slam, Inc. It is currently a membership-based site designed to be a clearinghouse of some of the best spoken word in the nation. It is meant to be affordable to artists, and accessible to those who may not be able to attend national poetry slam events.
